Simon Says Stamp – Slimline card and birds
Hi guys, today I have another project with the Sring birds stamp set from SSS. I LOVE this stamp set and I cannot get enough of it. With this card, I wanted to practice my no line watercoloring with distress inks. Since I wanted ALL of the birds in the set, I had to make a slimline card (3 1/2 by 8 1/2).
I use my mini distress inks to colour the birds. First, I stamped them with Antique Linen distress ink.
- For the birds, I used speckled egg, tumbled glass and salty ocean.
- For the branch, I used walnut stain, old paper and peeled paint.
I used the bitty birdhouse die from SSS, because this die with the birds is just perfect.
I then used the slim card basic die from Mama elephant for panel with stitched borders and I used the cloud die to add some interest on my background. I used Bristol paper for the background and ink blended with distress oxide speckled egg (my favorite color). I added some splatter with my distress spray stain in speckled egg.
Finally, I foam mounted almost everything and added the elements on a Sea Salt cardstock from taylored expressions cardbase. I used a french sentiment for this card, because I made it specifically for my dad’s birthday. He loves birds, so it was fitting for me to had all of them on a card.
